About Pioneers of the Inevitable
Songbird is built by Pioneers of the Inevitable, a group of designers and developers who believe in the promise of an open customizable media player. In the past, some members of the team have worked on Winamp, Yahoo! Music Jukebox, Netscape Navigator, and Mozilla Firefox. Pioneers was founded in the summer of 2006.
Songbird's core development is generously supported by Sequoia Capital, Atlas Venture and a small group of angels. Our community has grown to thousands of developers and contributors who have generated add-ons, patches, and thoughtful feedback.
